Our 2020 GDC Scholarship Applications are closed!
I Need Diverse Games is dedicated to increasing diversity both in-game and in studio, and we will be awarding these scholarships to members of marginalized groups (person of color, LGBTQIA, woman, or reside at an intersection of those identities) who would not have the opportunity to attend the GDC without financial assistance. Whether you make diverse games or otherwise intentionally furthers the agenda for diversification of gaming we want to hear from you!
Note that this conference is not intended for influencers, streamers or others that simply wish to meet their favorite developers. Pass awardees must show that they have a vested interest in increasing diversity & inclusion in the industry. If you are not a developer, or simply wish to attend to network, we suggest that you purchase an EXPO pass and attend the Career sessions and off site events.
If you are not a member of these marginalized groups but your work is dedicated to increasing diversity in the video game industry, you are welcome to apply, however to uphold our mission statement and to give opportunities to those underrepresented in gaming, we will give preference to members of those groups.
We will review applications after the submission period closes, and update applicants soon after. Submit only one application! Please review your application carefully before submitting it to us. If you have issues with the form, please email us immediately at indg@ineeddiversegames.org
We expect to get far more applications than passes, so keep that in mind as you apply. Preference will be given to marginalized members of the community who may not otherwise have a chance to attend an industry event. Please do not email, twitter DM, or Facebook message us to ask about the status of your application before the application cycle ends.
We will aim to notify Core + Summits pass recipients by email by the end of December at the latest.
Applications will be reviewed by a small committee consisting of:
- Tanya DePass
- Bianca Anderson
- JC Lau
- Glenn White
- Chris Wright
